Associate professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. His main research topics are the development of Monte Carlo algorithms for the simulation of radiation transport and their application in the field of medical physics. He has also made contributions to the study of environmental radioactivity and its correlation with meteorological variables. He is co-author of the Monte Carlo codes PENELOPE, penEasy, DPM and MANTIS.
